Russia. This woman was attacked by a Bull Terrier and suffered fatal bites to her face and neck. Dogs attack people mainly due to fear, pain, or poor socialization. When threatened or startled, a dog’s instinct is often fight or flight—if escape isn’t possible, they bite. Lack of training or abuse can make dogs mistrustful and aggressive. Territorial behavior is another factor; some dogs instinctively defend their home or owner. Medical issues, such as injuries or neurological problems, can also trigger aggression. In many cases, human behavior—like sudden movements, direct eye contact, or invading personal space—provokes a defensive response. Ultimately, aggression is usually a result of stress, fear, or mishandling, not inherent malice.
