It is well known that if a person is run over by a vehicle a crushing type of trauma occurs. Severe crushing injuries of organs usually occure and are as a rule, obvious but the severity depends on the weight of the vehicle and its ground clearance. Running over the trunk can cause rib fractures, thoracic and lumbar spine fractures and crushing injuries of organs in the thoracic and the abdominal cavities.
