San Rafael del Yuma, Dominican Republic – 2019. Janel Aquiles Cedano de León, a 35 year old teacher was kidnapped by 2 men dressed as the police during a fake police check. The kidnappers phoned the teachers family and demanded 1,500,000 pesos for his release. They had 3 days to pay up. 4 days later, the police found a body that was gagged and buried in a shallow grave and confirmed that the body was the missing teacher. 18 people were implicated, including a police officer and the crime is believed to be related to a drug trafficking affair.
